How It All Began…

We can chart our future clearly and wisely only when we know the path which has led to the present. -Adlai E. Stevenson

Mansfield Ski Club celebrated our 50th Anniversary in 2013. We have come a long way since John Low, our founder, settled on a location and developed the first ski trails at Mansfield. It should be known that John and his six partners were pioneers in alpine skiing, and that the Mansfield families are part of a long-standing tradition of skiing excellence. We are proud to continue on with John’s vision of creating a ski resort close to Toronto, with the top-of-the-line snowmaking, lifts, and facilities.

John Low, along with the six other founding members: Bob Low, Jim Low, Keith Halladay, Whit Lapp, Dan Lawrie and John Shirt, purchased roughly 50 acres in the Mulmur Hills which is the present location of Mansfield Ski Club. This original group of directors are respectfully dubbed “The Mansfield Group of Seven”.

We are proud to boast a full service lodge and amenities, 7 lifts, terrain parks and 15 trails ranging from beginner to advanced slopes. Mansfield Ski Club is also brimming with a great variety of freestyle, instructional and racing programs. Social events always fill our winter calendar with our longstanding annual events like Ladies Day, Après, Men’s Day, the Annual Auction, and many more that you can find on our online calendar.
